Hi Mike,
Depending on what may be the problem, sometimes reinstalling clean can
be the fastest way. Especially with SP3 out now, you won't waste so
much time downloading all the updates if you have at least an SP1 CD.
Sometimes malware can be so pesky it's a waste of time trying to remove
all of it. If you can boot into Safe Mode and backup what you need,
that may be the simplest way. Of course if it's only a driver issue,
that could usually be resolved quickly.
Did you try a System Restore back to a time when it was working properly?
