Okay, nasty habit we have of assuming all are on the same page.
I downloaded the SO file NOT OpenOffice, but Sun's StarOffice 8. Ran
the "sh xxxxxxxxx.sh" command and things proceeded as they should. A
terminal window opened and asked me where I wanted to unpack the "sh" file.
I accepted the default and it unpacked the file into the "tmp" directory
and then opened the Install window. That was all as it should be, the only
problem is, the Install window was blank. It may well be a video setting,
but before I mess with too much, I was wondering if someone else had had
the same problem
