Before you go wipe it all and reinstall why not switch your BIOS back to use
IDE emulation for the SATA. Boot to XP, install the XP driver needed for your
SATA chipset, reboot, switch the BIOS back to SATA and see what happens? If it
does not work you are no worse off than you are now. :)
