Just a note on terminology here: XP Gold can also be called XP SP0.
However XP SP1 is not Gold. It is XP Gold integrated with SP1. "Gold"
refers to the first edition of software to be released to manufacturing and
general public availability. There is an "rtm" date and a later "date of
general public availability" which is the starting date for the support
lifecycle.
