Have you rebooted the PC? I do not understand the exact problem--you can
see the start menu but there is no start button??? You mention autohide but
that pertains to the taskbar. Are you actually saying that the taskbar has
disappeared and the autohide setting is not selected? If so, run the cursor
over the line at the bottom of the screen (assumes the bottom is where you
kept the taskbar) and when a double headed arrow appears, left click and
pull the taskbar up.
