ZaReason explains the delay for the Everex CloudBook was a change from Enlightenment to GNOME desktop environment.
Enlightenment is a window manager, a desktop shell, and includes libraries for software development. In contrast, GNOME is a popular environment that is part of the GNU project. GNOME began in 1996 and competes with the Kool Desktop Environment, KDE. Linus Torvalds prefers KDE - but KDE and GNOME users are extremely loyal and are more than willing to describe the benefits of either environment. I flip between the two - whenever a new version of one or the other is released. KDE appears to focus more on usability and much of the layout is more consistent. Yet, I'm glad the CloudBook is moving toward a more common GUI.
