Engadget is reporting information on the soon-to-be released Dell Latitude E-series.
According to Engadget, "there will be a 4.25 pound / 14.1-inch and 5 pound / 15.4-inch version, both with WXGA and WXGA+ LED backlit displays, as well as a 12-inch (pictured above) and 13.3-inch version for road warrior types. Expect DisplayPort, eSATA, plenty of USB ports, and PC or ExpressCard slots in the larger models."
A comment on Crave states: "Dell brought these by our lab to show us what is in the works. We have 3 currently. On board GPS, Solid States drives, and yes backlit keyboards. Built in camera. These things are very un-Dell for business. Looked like a nice cross between a Lenovo and HP business units. Very nice, and hopefully much better built than recent Dell business units."
According to Electronista, "The systems will reportedly also replace the DVI or VGA video output from larger Latitudes with DisplayPort, a new output technology used in Dell's 3008WFP and Crystal LCDs as well as upcoming displays from other firms. External Serial ATA may also make its first appearance on one of Dell's systems alongside mainstays such as ExpressCard and PC Card slots."
