The Fujitsu P1620 Tablet PC: Goes Both Ways

Rugged PC Review publishes a five paragraph look at the Fujitsu LifeBook P1620 Tablet PC. The Fujitsu P1620 is an update to the Fujitsu P1610.

"The new P1620 has a 1.2GHz Ultra Low Voltage Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It uses the Intel 945GMS chipset. Base RAM is half a gig, but you're better off using the sole Micro-DIMM slot for a 2GB chip if you plan on using the Vista Business Edition. The hard disk range has been updated and you can get shockmounted disks from 40 to 100GB, or -- new -- a 32GB Solid State Disk."

The uniqueness of the P1620 Tablet PC is the ability of the hinge to swing either way. Yes, it never fails to have someone sitting by your side and wanting to show them the screen - only to discover the screen does not turn the right way.

Finally, the price increase is addressed with the note that you always pay more for smaller computers.
