Expect more people to write about next week's released Lenovo ThnkPad X300. Walt Mossberg has fallen in love with his review unit.
The biggest complaint appears to be the amount of storage space. This is due to the SSD and can easily be overcome by using an external drive to store the movies that many of us are keeping on the computers now. This habit also allows me to easily move the media around from one machine to the next.
Most of the article focuses on a comparison with the MacBook Air. The Air is cleaner, thinner, and has more storage options. Yet, the X300 offers more ports. In fact, this comment is striking: "The Lenovo even offers GPS location-finding, the ability to connect to new wireless USB devices and future support for a forthcoming wireless network standard called WiMax." Wireless USB (WUSB) is going to be a big hit in my household. There are just too many wires for my dog to chew on during the day.
What do you think? Are you excited about notebooks becoming thinner? Do you find the design interesting?
