Another Intel dual-core Celeron in 2Q08

by TQ on January 21, 2008

Digitimes reports Intel is ready to launch the E1400.

According to their sources, the E1400 will be a 2GHz, 800MHz FSB, L2 cache of 512KB, and have a maximum TDP of 65W.

I cannot imagine people interested in single-core processors any longer. Maybe I am missing the point but Celeron processors have always been processors on a diet. Moving to a dual-core makes sense and hopefully we’ll see even faster processors.

BTW: Am I the only one noticing that Intel chipsets and processors seem rather “old” ? We really have not seen any advances lately. Do you expect to see a 4 GHz processor any time soon?
